Night out is expensive

A BIRTHDAY night out proved costly for one Worksop man.

The licensee of The Vine called police over concerns about a man at the rear of the pub.

Prosecutor Ruth Snowdin said police attended and gave Byron Padgett, 25, a direction to leave the locality notice. Police returned 10 minutes later and saw him back at the rear of the Gateford Road pub.

Defence solicitor David Grant said Padgett, of Gateford Road, had too much to drink on a friend’s birthday night out, but his mates wanted him to stay.

“He wishes to apologise for being difficult that night through means of intoxication,” he added.

Padgett admitted failing to comply with the direction of a PC and must pay £205 in fines, surcharges and costs.
