A new Interim Principal has started at Gainsborough’s Trent Valley Academy following the resignation of former Principal Wendy Carrick.
Fiona Wainde has been working with the academy as a Principal Consultant over the past two months. Her appointment comes after a period of leave for Mrs Carrick, whose resignation was announced this week to all at TVA.
A TVA spokesman said: “Mrs Carrick has decided to move on to new challenges in the education sector and everyone at the academy wishes her all the best with these future plans. Mrs Wainde has 15 years experience in the education sector, with a strong track record of successfully leading school improvement, raising academic standards and installing strong leadership. Her career as a school leader has been in private, grammar and comprehensive schools, including sponsored academies, across primary, secondary and sixth form.”
Mrs Wainde said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at TVA.
“The academy has delightful students and committed staff who are working hard to create a caring, hardworking and disciplined environment. I look forward to playing a role in moving the academy forward, ensuring TVA is the first school of choice for local parents and supporting staff in providing excellence in education.”
Stephen Hopkins, Chair of Governors added: “I would like to acknowledge the contribution Mrs Carrick has made to the development of TVA and I wish her well in the next stage of her career in education. We are delighted to welcome Mrs Wainde and I am confident that with her leadership the academy will make fast progress over the coming months.”
