Man found dead after river plunge is named

POLICE have named the man who died after his car plunged into a river near Clumber Park.

Wayne Slack, 24, from Newark, was driving along the B6034 Ollerton Road in Carburton, near Worksop, when it entered the river.

Police are still trying to piece together how the car ended up in the river, and when.

It happened some time on Sunday 9th December.

Officers were called at 12.10pm when they found the car, a Renault Clio Expression, in the river. Mr Slack was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had been travelling from Worksop towards Ollerton.

No other vehicle is thought to have ben involved and no-one else was hurt.

Police closed the road for a time from the junction of Sparken Hill and Carburton crossroads while they carried out their inquiries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should get in touch with Notts Police.
