Torr Street cordoned off in Gainsborough G130117-1a

A MAN has been charged after a violent assault in Gainsborough left a local man hospitalised.

Police were called to Torr Street in the early hours of Thursday 17th January where they cordoned off the area with access to Tesco petrol station only while they investigated an assault which took place in a house - believed to be a stabbing.

The incident took place in a property where a man was injured and taken to Lincoln County Hospital. His condition is stable and his injuries were not life-threatening.

The following day, police arrested Adam John Morton, from Westfield in Sheffield. The 20-year-old then appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 19th January charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
