Man bailed after Worksop wheelie bin fire

Police are looking for witnesses after someone set fire to a wheelie bin and the blaze spread to a block of flats in Worksop on Friday night (15th February 2013).

A 22-year-old local man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident, but police are still appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to call them.

It happened in Garside Street at around 11.45pm when the contents of a wheelie bin were set alight and the bin pushed against a communal door of the flat complex.

The fire caused smoke damage to the building and left one of a number of residents, who were inside their homes at the time, needing treatment for smoke inhalation.

If you have any information contact Notts Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
