Lincs charity combats fuel poverty

Gainsborough news

Gainsborough news

The Lincolnshire Community Foundation is spending £250,000 of NHS money through its Responders to Warmth service, providing affordable warmth in Lincolnshire, an area of crippling fuel poverty – high on winter-related accidents, ill health and deaths.

If you’re in poor health and you can’t afford to keep warm, contact Responders Warmth to see if you qualify for services - ranging from slippers and thermal socks to insulation and boiler repairs.

Foundation director Gordon Hunter: “The County gets the worst of the weather and it’s high in the fuel poverty rankings. Thank Goodness we have this fast-response service: in some cases same-day response, guiding, reassuring and delivering practical solutions to vulnerable people in dire need.”
