LIBERAL Democrat Mark Binns has been named the winner of last week’s by-election for the Gainsborough East Ward onto West Lindsey District Council

He will replace Coun Mel Starkey, who sadly passed away in November of last year.

Here are the results of the WLDC Gainsborough East Ward by-election:

- Mark Binns (Lib Dem) 169

- Richard Butroid (Cons) 129

- Michael Devine (Lab) 149

- Howard Thompson (UKIP) 143
