Launch for poppy appeal

THE Mayor of Rotherham will launch the annual British Legion Poppy Appeal in the town next week.

Coun Dave Pickering will start the appeal, organised by the Rotherham, Rawmarsh and Parkgate Branch of the RBL, at Rotherham Town Hall on Monday 29th October.

Coun Pickering said: “I am both proud and honoured to launch this year’s Rotherham Poppy Appeal. The Royal British Legion is a wonderful organisation, which thanks to its extensive fund-raising has been able to provide practical help for servicemen and their families for the past 91 years.”
