SUTTON-cUM-LOUND C of E Primary School’s new headteacher has said she is ‘thrilled’ about her new role.

Miss Nadine Lacey was recently appointed as the new head at the village school and said she is looking forward to the future.

“I am pleased to be part of a vibrant village school - we have an exciting time ahead with planned developments to enrich our curriculum,” she said.

Sutton-cum-Lound Primary has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment with additional planned developments to enhance the outdoor area to create a vibrant outdoor learning space including a sensory garden with children growing their own fruit and vegetables for the school kitchen.

The school is also awaiting the arrival of a brood of hens, with plans for the eggs to be sold to parents and friends and used in the daily breakfast club.

Miss Lacey said they have also secured a ‘significant’ grant which will enable them majorly update ICT provision, enabling children to use the latest technology to connect with other pupils around the world.

“I am also looking forward to continuing our partnership with the newly re-opened Portland Place Pre-School,” she said.

“Portland Place Pre-School is attached to the main school but is independently managed offering childcare for pupils from three years old prior to them starting school as well as offering lunchtime provision.”

She added: “For a small village school, we are so pleased to be able to offer such extensive provision for our families. “

“Exciting times lie ahead for Sutton-cum-Lound C of E Primary and we are looking forward to the journey!”
