LANGOLD grandma Cindy Riley has been presented with this week’s Guardian Rose for helping to save her grandson’s life.
Cindy, 45, noticed something was drastically wrong when little Callum became seriously ill when he was just weeks’ old.
Callum, now three, was rushed to Bassetlaw Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with Ggroup B Streptococcus (GBS) - a deadly bacterial infection affecting newborn babies.
Cindy’s husband George said she was an inspirational woman whose efforts deserved to be recognised.
“She really is a wonderful woman. If it hadn’t been for her, Callum would not be here today,” he said.
