Guardian Rose delight for ‘brave’ little Tia

A BRAVE little girl from Worksop has been handed the Guardian Rose this week in recognition of her ongoing fight with ill health.

Tia Kirk, seven, of Ely Close, was diagnosed with diabetes when she was just 14 months old. And just recently she has been told she has Bells palsy which causes facial paralysis.

There were kisses and cuddles all round as close family friend Katie Lee presented Tia and her mum Renata with the rose.

“I just wanted to show you how much we love you and say how brave you have both been,” said Katie, 27.

“Despite all the things you have been through, you are always there for me.”

• Read the full story of Tia’s delight at getting the rose in this week’s Worksop Guardian - out Friday 28th September.
