Flooding hits Gainsborough and Worksop area

FLOODING has hit the area around Gainsborough and Worksop - closing the toll Bridge in Dunham-on-Trent and the A616 Worksop Road in Ollerton.

The Dunham toll bridge has been closed today (Thursday 27th December) as flooding continues and river levels continue to raise.

The Environment Agency say that the river gauge at Torksey, near Gainsborough, is at 6.45 metres with more rain forecast for the next 24 hours.

The A616 Worksop Road in Ollerton has also been shut both ways at the junction with the A614 Blyth Road.
