AS FASHION shows go, the Against Breast Cancer Charity fashion show at The Blues Club in Gainsborough was one of the best.

Local mum and daughter duo Lesley and Leanne Maclennan organised this family and friends parade of outfits which were kindly given by shops in Gainsborough - Dorothy Perkins, Burtons, Elegance, Olivia’s and Night Life as well as Candy Boutique from Barnsley and Matalan in Scunthorpe.

The aim was to try and raise ‘a few quid’ for a charity that has become close to their hearts.

And that they did - raising a staggering £2,400 in total, from ticket sales, raffle and cupcake sales.

Lesley said: “I was totally blown away by how many people gave up their time freely and the number of people who came on the evening. I am so proud of the models and grateful to many people for their work and support. I never imagined it would be so successful and raise so much money. I would like to thank all the businesses who gave the clothes and items to raffle and auction.”
