Dig deep for charity

KIND-hearted Gainsborough folk are being asked to dig deep and back a MacMillan Cancer Support event.

Almost 13,000 was raised in the town last year, money in the form of support grants which went towards 33 families living with the disease.

The grants cover many everyday costs such as heating and bedding and supplement the emotional support also provided by the registered charity.

And following the sad news that Lincoln City manger Peter Jackson has been diagnosed with throat cancer, a sponsored firewalk is to take place at the Sincil Bank ground on April 19.

A number of limited places are available for the event which requires a 25 registration fee to cover costs incurred from hosting the walk, ensuring all future money raised by participants will go to people living with cancer,

For more information or to book places, contact fundraising manager Gemma Dixon on (01522) 530640.
