Churches and schools providing summer fun

JUGGLING, making dreamcatchers and learning sign language were just some of the fun and interesting activities on offer as part of this year's Churches and Schools festival.

Now in its third year, the popular event offers Year 4 pupils from eight schools across the Gainsborough area a relaxing and engaging way to unwind as the academic year draws to a close.

It is run by Gainsborough Methodist, John Robinson URC and All Saints Parish churches and aims to get pupils involved in the church as well as offer them a fun way to learn new skills.

Students taking part were treated to a day of music, drama, collage-making as well as a special sign language workshop for deaf and blind charity Sense.

Gainsborough Methodist Church minister Liz Childs said pupils had great fun on the day and thanked everyone who took part.

”It always seems to be very well received by the children and the schools are happy for the festival to take place,” she said.

”Everybody had a really good day and it was great that we were blessed with sunshine.”
