Dinnington Children's Centre present a cheque for 236.00 to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice w130115-2

GENEROUS staff and youngsters from Dinnington Children’s Centre have been raising money for a local children’s charity.

And their efforts paid off when they presented a cheque for £236 to staff from Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice last week.

All of the money was raised during festive themed activities at the School Street centre in the run up to Christmas.

Children’s Centre receptionist Ruth Bagley said: “Instead of us all buying and sending Christmas cards to each other, we had a big Bluebell Wood card and put donations into that.”

“The children also made reindeer food to sell and we held a raffle and a tombola in the week before Christmas.”

The children’s centre has raised money for North Anston-based hospice in the past, with staff feeling it is important to support local good causes.

“We support Bluebell Wood because it is a children’s charity and it’s local,” added Ruth.

“As we are a children’s centre it seemed like the right thing to do. It’s children raising money to help other children.”
