Blyton lad is thrilled to get a letter from Queen

A RIGHT Royal well done is due to one bright Blyton lad after a letter he wrote received a response from Her Majesty the Queen.
Billy Swaby, a Year Four pupil at Blyton-cum-Laughton Primary School, wrote to the Queen to invite her to the school’s Macmillan coffee afternoon.
The youngster even asked the monarch to bake a cake for their charity stall.
Sadly, the Queen was unable to attend the coffee afternoon, but eight-year-old Billy was absolutely delighted when he received a response from Buckingham Palace.
“I was really hoping that she’d be able to make it to the coffee afternoon,” said Billy.
“But I was really happy and excited when we got a reply anyway.”
He continued: “My friends couldn’t believe me but my mum and dad were really happy.”
“I would definitely write to her again and I hope that she can come to our school in future.”
Teaching assistant Rachel Marriot said that everyone at school was really proud of Billy.
“We’re so pleased that they took the time to write back to him,” she said.
“Billy took a long time over this letter and he deserves to feel proud.
“We fetched him up in assembly when it arrived so all of the children could see and I think he was a bit worried about what it was about but it was really nice!”
