BFG proves a Big hit!
Craft session and storytelling performance of Roald Dahl's book the BFG with actor Anthony Pedley (w121020-2c)
KIDS shrieked with excitement as they were paid a visit by Roald Dahl’s classic character the Big Friendly Giant.
Worksop Library hosted the storytelling session for four to 11-year-olds which saw actor Anthony Pedley play the larger than life part.
Anthony is the first actor to play the role of the BFG on stage, and he brought a perfect air of giant-ness to the performance.
And his catchphrase ‘I is the Big Friendly Giant’ made the kids giggle.
“It went really well and Anthony was brilliant,” said library service advisor Julie Benjafield. “He brought a lot of the props from the stage show and his costume too.”

Julie said around 45 children and 20 adults attended the free performance, and the response from both had been good.
“They really thought is was brilliant because it made them think about story telling themselves,” she said.
