A former Valley Comprehensive School pupil has landed a starring role alongside French legend Gerard Depardieu in a film about the FIFA World Cup.
Steven Elder, real name Steven Lawrence, who also attended Redlands Primary, will take a lead role in F2014, to be released in August this year.
Now dividing his time between London and Los Angeles, Steven is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jonas Whitfield in TV drama Lost.
He has also starred alongside Viggo Mortenson in the film Good, and with Wesley Snipes in Gallowwalker.
Steven credits much of his interest in acting to his Worksop roots.
He said: ““The first play I did was The Crucible by Arthur Miller, on the stage at Valley School.”
“There was a lot of encouragement for anyone showing an interest in drama at Valley, and I very much hope that continues today.”
