WORKSOP residents are being urged to vote for a local project in the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards.
Oasis Community Centre and Gardens is competing in the Best Environment Project category.
The Oasis Community Project turned a derelict youth club into a multi-purpose community centre and an abandoned field into community gardens and an activity park on the Kilton Estate in Worksop.
The National Lottery Awards recognise the positive impact Lottery-funded projects make to local communities.
Jackie O’Sullivan from The National Lottery Awards said: “National Lottery players raise a massive £30 million a week for good causes across the UK.”
“The semi-finalists are shining examples of what can be achieved. Everyone should vote for their favourite local project to help them get national recognition for their efforts.”
People are being encouraged to vote before midday on 22nd July to help their chosen project through to the final. The winner in each category will receive a £2,000 cash prize.
