Rampton Hospital scored highly in a recent security audit by the prison service.
The high secure hospital near Retford, which is managed by Notts Healthcare, increased its rating from the previous year.
It received a score of 98 per cent in the audit, which looked at the risk reduction and containment procedures in place in the hospital.
Head of security Lee Brammer said hospital staff were delighted with the result.
“Good security is paramount in order to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and the public,” he said.
“By working to reduce risk, we can provide a safe, therapeutic environment which enhances the effective care, treatment and recovery of our patients.”
