Gainsborough Heritage Centre is hosting a talk at Gainsborough House on the role of local men, during the prominent battles of 1916 in World War One.

Stories will focus on men such as brothers Walter and Albert Snow from Ropery Road who were both killed at Jutland and Percy Alvy from Spital Terrace, killed on the first day of the Somme.

The talk is on May 18 at 7.30pm and entry is £4 with refreshments available at the interval.
