Epworth’s much-awaited new SK8 P4rk opens officially on Friday, in time for Christmas sport.

Isle MP Andrew Percy, will join skateboarders to mark the occasion, and boarders and bikers will be able to get out for fresh air on their Christmas presents over the holidays.

North Lincolnshire Council worked with young people, the Axholme SK8 P4rk Committee and South Axhome Academy to develop the skate park on the South Axholme Academy site.

South Axholme Academy consulted with the wider community about the plans and this confirmed that the park was what young people wanted.

Coun Liz Redfern, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Young people came up with the idea and put their enthusiastic proposals to us. They have been involved every step of the way, ensuring we deliver what they want. They designed the new skate park and even came up with the name, as it is something young people can relate to.

“This is a fantastic facility for young people that will give them the opportunity to enjoy their free time doing something they enjoy.”
