Food, drinks and new opportunities are on the menu at a new social enterprise coffee shop.

Barista, part of EVE Trades, opened its coffee shop at Worksop Library on Tuesday. Founded by Framework, EVE Trades is a social enterprise that exists solely for the communities it serves.

It employs 15 staff, many of whom have overcome significant challenges.

Worksop branch manager Phil Hollywood was unemployed when he was referred to Framework. After a period of volunteering he was taken on full time and quickly worked his way up to the position of supervisor.

He said: “Volunteering is what you make of it. It helped me to rebuild my confidence and allowed me to do my best in life.”

Barista is open Monday to Friday 9.30am - 5pm, Saturday 9.30am - 3.30pm and Sunday 12noon - 3.30pm.
