A ‘BIRDY’ may be a more frequent happening after bird boxes were donated to Gainsborough Golf Club, by North Notts Lions.

The North Notts Lions Club donated two ‘luxury’ owl boxes to the Golf Club to express their thanks and gratitude for their kindness and support to the Lions Charity Golf Day and Junior Golf Academy over many years.

When The Standard went along to photograph the presentation, we also caught this magnificent snap of an owl in flight.

“We wish to thank Mr Brian Simpson who very kindly built the the owl boxes for us and also Mr Phil Walters of the Wetlands Animal Park at Sutton-cum-Lound for their kindness and support with the owl display on the day,” said Mr Blacknell from the North Notts Lions.
