CHARITABLE children from a Gainsborough primary school felt the goodwill spirit of Christmas by raising money to send African children to school.

Pupils at Benjamin Adlard School raised over £85 during their Christmas campaign - enough to send five African schoolgirls to school for a year. School administrator Pam Henderson said that it was part of the Oxfam Unwrapped campaign. “It’s a small effort that makes a big difference really,” she said. “We wanted to cut down on Christmas cards, so instead the children bought these paper Christmas stockings for 10p each then decorated them. It helps the children to realise that there are some not as fortunate as they are.”
