GAINSBOROUGH folk will finally be able to order a Big Mac next Wednesday, when the eagerly awaited McDonald’s restaurant opens.
Finishing touches are being made to the brand new Beaumont Street eatery, featuring a Drive-Thru ordering lane.
After four months and £1 million investment, the doors will be thrown open on Wednesday 23rd May and everyone is invited to have a look around.
Bob Meadowcroft, franchisee of three McDonald’s in Scunthorpe and one in Worksop, said everyone was looking forward to opening day.
“We’ve employed 89 local people and they can’t wait to welcome the Gainsborough community,” said Bob.
“We extend our invite to residents and people living nearby to come and see what we’re about and how we work.”
Bob said the regeneration going on in Gainsborough was a big enticement to open a restaurant here.
“I can see there’s lots going on here. Marshall’s Yard was a big draw, as well as the central location.”
Steve Wood, business manager at the new restaurant, said there could be more jobs in the pipeline if business boomed.
He started off as a crew member 15 years ago, so knows all about McDonald’s’ dedication to staff development.
With 90 seats, 30 car parking spaces, free WiFi, a range of eco-friendly initiatives and a commitment to community involvement, McDonald’s in Gainsborough looks set to be a popular choice for diners.
