Two teenagers are celebrating after raising hundreds of pounds for charity by completing the Everyone Active Gainsborough 5k race on Sunday.

Molly Hawcroft raised around £400 for the MS Charity. The 16-year-old chose the charity because her father suffers from MS.

Her friend Bradley Dawes, 14, also completed the race and raised around £150 for the Candles charity, based in Lincoln.

The pair, from Gainsborough, took part in Morton Striders’ couch to 5k running programme, to improve their fitness levels in time for the race.

Jo Hawcroft, Molly’s mum, said everyone was proud of the pair and were there to cheer them on over the finish line.
