White’s Wood Academy in Gainsborough held a tea and cake afternoon in aid of the Macmillan Cancer charity last month.

Parents and family friends came along to enjoy a slice of cake, cupcakes and refreshments with their children in the school.

All cakes had been kindly donated by staff, parents and grandparents of the school on the morning of the event.

There was also a chance for our guests to win a prize in the charity raffle.

“Children from our Year Six classes served as waiters and waitresses for the afternoon, showing parents to classrooms and assisting in the dining hall,” said Rachel Ward, executive business manager.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated cakes and who supported our event.”

“A fantastic £267 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Charity.”

White’s Wood Academy is part of the Tall Oaks Academy Trust in Gainsborough that also incorporates Mercer’s Wood Academy and the new Castle Wood Academy which will open in September 2015.
