The Gainsborough Business Awards are fast approaching and this year’s entries from a range of industries of various sizes were stronger then ever.

Aleksandra Tusien of the event organisers, Langleys Solicitors LLP, said: “We are delighted about the number of applications we have received for this year’s awards.

“The standard of applications this year was higher than ever and it made the job of the judges very difficult.”

The judges now completed the tough task of narrowing down all the applications received to a shortlist of three businesses.

The nominess for the Best Customer Service Award 2015, sponsored by The White Heather, are Emmalooos, Marks and Spencer and Vertical Fitness

The Outstanding Contribution to the Community 2015, sponsored by Ping, are Browns Department Store, Nigel Webster and Regal Manufacturing Limited.

The Best Use of Innovation/Technology 2015, sponsored by Freewatt, are Kal Designs Limited, John Brash and Co Limited and Williamsons Farms.

The Gainsborough Apprentice of the Year 2015, sponsored by Gainsborough College, are Allecia Haw of Andrew Jay and Co, Hannah Walker of GB Scaffolding Gainsborough, Kerry Atkinson of ECS The Greener Side, Naomi Taylor of Lovelles Estate Agents and Scott Duffner of ECS The Greener Side.

The Gainsborough Business Person of the Year 2015, sponsored by Ideafuel Creative, are Amanda Legate of Freewatt Limited, Neil Barrett of Supplybase Solutions Limited and Suzanne Smith of Soteria Asbestos Limited.

The Best New Business 2015, sponsored by West Lindsey District Council, are ECS The Greener Side, Sandra’s Flower Studio and Soteria Asbestos Limited.

The Gainsborough Small Business of the Year 2015, sponsored by Wright Vigar, are Nationwide Traffic Solutions, Sandra’s Flower Studio and The Darron Childs Practice.

The Gainsborough Business of the Year 2015, sponsored by Langleys Solicitors LLP, are Freewatt Limited, John Brash and Co Limited and Regal Manufacturing Limited.

The winner of each category will receive a bespoke award, which was designed by Ideafuel Creative and made by Hooton Engineering Ltd, based in Gainsborough.

Aleksandra Tusien added: “Enormous congratulations to all the businesses who have been shortlisted. The strength of the applications this year is a huge testament to the local Gainsborough economy.

“This was a very strong year and our judges have commented on how difficult it was to shortlist just three businesses from such strong applications.

“In fact the judges had such difficulty in the Gainsborough Apprentice of the Year category to shortlist thre finalists, they shortlisted five applicants for the award.

“I would advise anyone who was not successful this year to make sure they apply for the 2016 Gainsborough Business Awards.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at The White Heather on the September 17, 2015.

The guest speakers for the event will be Alfie Moore, presenter of the BBC Radio 4 comedy series, “It’s a Fair Cop” and a current serving police sergeant.

He will be speaking at the Gainsborough Business Awards having returned from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
