GREEN-FINGERED residents and generous businesses are invited to come forward and be a part of Gainsborough In Bloom this year.

Members of Gainsborough In Bloom met last week and agreed to form a constituted group with a view to building on the success already achieved as a sub group to the Town Centre Partnership.

A spokesman said: “We are looking to build on the success of the group who achieved a bronze award last year with a few volunteers and some input from the Town Council.”

“We would like to target silver or silver gilt this year, but it will be hard work and we need more volunteers to help. Even a half hour a week from a few people can make a big difference.”

“Some approaches to the town and certain key areas can be made to look more inviting to visitors and would be enjoyed by the townsfolk too.”

He continued: “We are not just about winning awards, but improving the look of the town and giving its residents something to be proud of.”

The Gainsborough In Bloom group will meet at The Plough Business Hub, 37 Church Street, Gainsborough, on a fortnightly basis. All are welcome. For more info contact Vaughan Hughes on 07738397032 or email
