Gainsborough-based Gleadell Agriculture Ltd, a major grain and pulses exporter, has appointed leading energy management specialist Orchard Energy, to help maximise its energy efficiency as part of a new government programme.

UK businesses that turn over €50 million or employ 250 or more people are required to participate in the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), a mandatory government legislation which aims to reduce the amount of energy being wasted by businesses.

Gleadell’s operations manager, Glynn Biss, said: “Orchard has experienced energy auditors and is an obvious partner of choice to assist Gleadell.”
