A Gainsborough coffee shop has been recognised for the third year running for its great customer service.

Emmaloos in Market Street, Gainsborough, was awarded the Best Customer Service award, sponsored by the Gainsborough Standard, at this year’s Gainsborough Business Award and this is the third year in a row they have been given the accolade and owner, Matthew Lonsdale, thinks it is down to the shop’s old fashioned values.

He said: “Our customers nominated us.”

“It just goes to show good old fashioned values work, such as saying hello, thank you and please, remembering customers orders and making them feel welcome.”

“These are still very important.”

“We try to offer a high level of customer care to everyone who comes in.”

“We aim to remember something about them and make them feel welcome.”

“We want to be a home from home for people.”

“Groups have got to know each other from coming in to us for a coffee and then they have struck up friendships.”
