Demolition has started on an iconic Gainsborough building which once housed the local authority offices.
The former Guildhall, on Caskgate Street, looks a shadow of its former glory as it is prepared for demolition.
The civic relic was at the forefront of modern architecture when it was designed and built in the 1960s.
Late local architect Neil Taylor drew up the plans for the building. The project which him much personal pride and professional privilege. Neil passed away last year, just months after it was revealed that the building was to be torn down.
It is understood that a leisure complex including cinema and bowling alley could be built on the site.
But concrete plans have not yet formally been revealed by West Lindsey District Council which owns the building and the land.
