Gainsborough: Con artist tricks her way into OAP’s home

Police are warning residents after a con artist tricked her way into the home of a Gainsborough pensioner.

The woman, claiming to be from Age Concern/Age UK talked her way into the property of an elderly female on Garfield Street on 30th May.

She sold four bedding sets to the occupant for a cost of £200. The female visitor is described as being a white female, approx 5ft 6in tall, dark coloured hair and wearing a suit.

The visiting female also visited another elderly person on the street but gave the description of white female, 5ft 2in tall, wearing a beige/grey cardigan and dark coloured hair in a bun on top of her head.

Police believe neither resident asked for any form of ID.

If anyone knows any elderly persons living in that area of Gainsborough please advise them to be extra cautious of unsolicited callers to the door and if in doubt do not let them in.
