Building works to remodel the ground floor of the Guildhall in Marshall’s Yard will start on Monday 1st September so that Job Centre Plus can move into the building in November.

This is the start of transforming the building into a public services hub meaning the Guildhall will become a one-stop shop for residents and customers providing a range of services.

As a result on Friday 29th August West Lindsey District Council will not be able to offer a face to face service as the ground floor is being cleared in preparation for the building works to start in full on 1st September.

Customers will still be able to use the council’s website,, email address or call them on 01427 676 676.

Normal service will be resumed on Monday 1st September in a temporary location in the Guildhall.

Signage will be in place to direct customers to this temporary reception.

During the works services occupying the ground floor will move to other accommodation.

Some of these moves will be permanent and some temporary.

Voluntary Centre Services has moved to new office on the first floor, and this move is permanent.

The main and the side entrances will be closed and a new temporary entrance set up on Spring Gardens, opposite the RWB accountants.

A council officer will be able available to help and advise customers when they enter the building at the temporary entrance.

Deputy Leader of the council, Coun Anne Welburn, is pleased about the transformation within the Guildhall.

She said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the building works, but we want to make things as easy as possible for our customers.

“By providing as many services as we can under one roof, will ultimately save time and make life simpler for residents.”
