Local videos and pictures was the theme of the meeting and it started with a selection of videos by Stuart Leeman taken in 2011 showing the removal of the old railway bridge at Lea and the installation of the new footings and bridge, the whole process taking several days and creating a lot of long journeys round the closed road.
Then, courtesy of Brian Timbrell, members were shown some pictures of Whitton’s Mill taken during the fire in October 2001. Many of the pictures were taken at night and showed how fierce the fire was. The mill was completely burnt out and stood derelict for several years following the fire. An amusing set of pictures depicting a hardworking ant followed which struck a chord with many members.
The meeting was rounded of with a selection of Lincolnshire sky pictures by Ian Loxley.
