The May Day event marks the granting of the town charter in 1246, and has become one of the biggest fixtures in the Bassetlaw calendar.

It kicked off with the traditional parade, before events began in Market Square and Kings’ Park.

Juggling, a Punch and Judy show and fire-eating were among the attractions in Market Square, which was revamped by Bassetlaw Council last year.

Over at Kings’ Park the events included Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy and Harworth Drummers, while the Knights in Battle display attracted huge crowds.

And the ever-popular Lions duck races once again proved to be a success.

There were also the traditional attractions such as amusements and fairground rides which ensured that everyone who came along to the event had a thoroughly enjoyable Bank Holiday.
