If you think you could benefit from this funding, submit your application. This will then be discussed along with other applications at the panel on January 11, 2016.

The fund aims to encourage and support community groups to improve facilities, services and activities to local children and young people, families, and adults of all ages and to leave a legacy for future generations.

The fund will support the following organisations if they are non-profit making and have social aims:

Junior and youth groups

Charitable bodies

Trusts

Co-operatives

Industrial and provident societies

Not-for-profit constituted organisations

Town and parish councils

Schools

Applications from new groups are also welcome.

SSE Keadby Wind Farm Community Fund was officially launched in October 2013 and will last for 25 years.

North Lincolnshire Council manages the funding as a grant scheme.

It was set up after a wind farm developer brought a 34 turbine site to North Lincolnshire and pledged more than £8.5m for community projects.

As well as the SSE Keadby Wind Farm Community Fund, the funding also provides the Sustainable Development Fund for North Lincolnshire-wide projects.

Both projects are targeted towards community benefit projects, but the SDF is to support projects that could be transformational for those communities. SDF will reopen again in early 2016.

Councillor John Briggs, ward member for Axholme North, said: “The SSE Wind Farm Community Fund is a brilliant opportunity for community groups in Axholme North. It supports a wide range of facilities, events, activities and services. It will help support communities to ensure they become sustainable; improve the facilities and services for the residents of North Axholme; and leave a legacy for future generations.

“If you are part of a community group or have a community project that you think could benefit from this funding, get in touch with us before 14 December.”
