The Environment Agency is advising people across Worksop to remain vigilant and be prepared for flooding after the Met Office issued a warning of heavy rain for today into the weekend.

Teams have been working round the clock, with other emergency responders, checking flood defences, clearing blockages and monitoring river levels.

Members of the public are advised to stay away from swollen rivers and not to drive through floodwater.

The Environment Agency has also urged the public to remain vigilant and check its website and Twitter feed for the latest updates and flood warnings and to keep up to date with Met office weather warnings.

People who live or work in areas at risk of flooding should sign up to Floodline Warnings Direct on 0845 988 1188 or through www.environment-agency.gov.uk.
