A CHILDREN’S Centre in Gainsborough is celebrating after receiving its results from Ofsted.

Gainsborough Early Years Children’s Centre on North Marsh Road was given a grade of ‘overall good’after a recent inspection.

The centre was graded as outstanding in ‘the extent to which all users enjoy and achieve educationally, and in their social development’ as well as in ‘promoting purposeful learning, development and enjoyment to all.’

The report also said that the centre offers a warm and welcoming environment for everyone, that they are extremely responsive to families’ needs and that attendance is impressively high.

The Early Years Centre has been open since 2005 on the site of Gainsborough Nursery School.

Head of the centre Jo Noble said that they were all delighted with the report, which recognises the high quality of provision which they offer to all families in Gainsborough.

“It’s great to have that recognition for all of the hard work and dedication that everyone has put in,” she said.

“All the staff work really, really hard for the best possible outcome for the children.”

“The report said that we had a strong family feel to the centre, and we all do what we can to maintain that.”

She continued: “We achieve that family feeling by respecting people and valuing everyone that comes in and always try to make it feel like a big extended family.”

Jo added that of course, none of this would have been possible without the stellar efforts of her team.

“I just want to say a big thank you to the staff,” she said.

“We have a lot of people that come into the centre with different groups and we’d like to thank them for their dedication and commitment.”

“Everybody truly goes over and above the call of duty in doing what they are meant to do.”

Although the next Ofsted report is not for another five years, Jo said that they are already aiming for an even better result next time around.

“We would like to think that we’re striving to be ranked outstanding next time,” she said.

She added: “But then again, we’re always aiming to be outstanding.”

The centre offers full day care for children aged 0-5 and has numerous community groups operating including Home Start, a community cafe, a parents and family group, a toy library and much more.
