ARTISTIC and enterprising pupils from Whites Wood Lane Junior School were rewarded for their imaginative approach to a design competition.
The competition was to design a new school dining hall as part of the Food for Life programme.
“We’ve been working for our Food for Life silver award and part of that was to improve the dining experience at lunchtimes for children,” said school business manager Rachel Ward.
“We asked the children to design their ideal dining room so we could apply for funding to get it built.”
“We have two winners who won two iPod Shuffles donated by the county council and four runners up who also won prizes.”
She added: “They all loved it.”
