An Epworth student at North Lindsey College will be getting a taste of life in the fast lane with Lincoln-based race team PP Motorsport.

Lucky motorsport students are gearing up to be a part of the pit crew as the UK Clio Cup team race around nine circuits in 18 races.

UK Clio Cup is part of the famous TOCA package and is a support race for the British Touring Car Championship. The race team will travel to prestigious venues across the UK including Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone as well as Oulton Park and Snetterton 300.

The Colleges Motorsport programme began last September, with provision built around providing the knowledge and practical skills to work in motorsport whether that be development and design, track side maintenance, restoration or management of a race team.

Former South Axholme Academy student Naomi Knight of Epworth said: “I am really excited to get stuck in and play my part in the PP Motorsport team. I can’t believe we are getting experience like this; we are going to be trackside doing diagnostics and helping the team to victory.”
