Doncaster charity walkers for children’s hospital

Boston Park on Hatfield Moors saw a great fundraising effort by local people who walked the Red Route, sponsored by friends and family, to raise funds to share between Sheffield and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals.

Organiser Pat Sanderson said she was overwhelmed by the response from a relatively small turnout.

“We currently have over £300, and if all that we have been promised comes in, we will have raised over £600,” she explained, adding that Milly the dog also raised £30.

“We feared that the clash with the Tour de France would draw people away, but I think knowing that we could help children kept everyone focussed.
