The family of a Creswell soldier tragically killed in a road accident have visited his former unit to present a cheque to Help for Heroes.

Danny Crowder, 24, died in July when riding his motorbike. Money donated at Danny’s funeral will help provide practical support for wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their families at Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick. The family chose Help for Heroes because of Danny’s involvement with the British Army.

Danny’s dad Stephen Crowder said: “The Army has been a great support since Danny’s death and continue to be so. Choosing Help for Heroes is one way of giving something back.”
