Firefighters rescued a deer stuck in the canal near Saxilby this morning (Wednesday 24th April).
A call was made to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service just before 7.30am reporting that the animal was struggling in the water.
A rescue support unit and the urban search and rescue team attended with boats, but were not required.
Crews found a small deer in the middle of the canal, beside the A57.
It managed to move towards the edge where officers fastened an animal hook around it and pulled it to safety.
The deer was taken away from the road and the water to recover in a nearby field.
