Over 1700 students and staff at Wales High School completed a 12-mile sponsored walk around Rother Valley Country Park as part of a long-term project.
The school is aiming to raise around £25,000 to invest in the surrounding environment to make it a better place to learn.
A spokesperson at the school said: “The weather might have been kinder, but nothing dampened the spirits of the students who had an enjoyable day regardless.”
“It was a special occasion, particularly because of the way in which it galvanised the efforts of the whole school community in pursuit of a common aim, something we feel is a real strength of the school.”
“Just another four years now to look forward to and plan for the next one.”
In the past the school has raised money on behalf of Cabintan National High School in the Philippines, after storms ripped through the country,
In total students have staff have donated over £50,000 to different charities over the last three-year period.
A spokesperson added: “Wales High School is very proud of the substantial amount of work it does to support others who are in need.”
