A rapist from Worksop has been jailed for five years.

Daniel Peacock, 31, of Campbell Close, appeared for a three day trial at Nottingham Crown Court which concluded yesterday, Wednesday, August 5.

A jury found him guilty of raping a woman in March 2015. He was found not guilty of another rape allegation relating to November 2014.

Peacock was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

DC Gary Dodd from Public Protection said: “We are pleased with today’s result and that Peacock has been given a jail sentence.

“It should not be underestimated how difficult and traumatic it is for victims to come forward in rape cases. The victim in this case has shown tremendous bravery.”
