A TEENAGER and his friend stole a bike and attempted to steal a scooter after failing to buy cannabis, a court heard.

Jamie Bradford, 18, of Sandy Lane, admitted theft and attempted theft in Retford on 3rd November.

Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard that Bradford and a pal had gone to Retford to buy cannabis, but after failing to get any they went on a ‘thieving spree’.

Defence solicitor David Grant said Bradford was a lookout while his friend tried to steal the Aprilla scooter.

Both were heavily in drink and after been unable to take the scooter, Bradford ‘foolishly’ took the pedal bike , he added.

Sentence was adjourned for a probation report until 13th December.
