WORKSOP Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of robbery after a woman was attacked with a hammer in the early hours of Sunday.

The 25-year-old woman suffered head injuries in the incident on Plantation Hill, and is now recovering at home.

Detective Inspector Ash Wilson of Worksop CID said: “Although we have made an arrest, it is still crucial that people who spoke to or saw a woman walking alone in the area between 3.40am and 4am on Sunday morning contact us.”

“They may have vital information which will help our enquiries.”
